About The Speaker

Marco Moriondo

The main research field focuses on modeling the effect of climate change on agricultural and natural ecosystems. In this context he was involved in many national and international projects for studing the application of regional (RCM) and global (GCM) circulation models for the assessment of the impacts of climate change on agricultural crops and on the risk of fire. Very current research topics have been addressed, such as the evaluation of the impact of extreme events on the yields of the main cereals, the possible consequences of climate change on vine and olive cultivation areas on a European scale, the qualitative variations of viticultural productions in response to higher temperatures.

Researcher of the Insitute of BioEconomy of the Italian National Research Council (IBE-CNR)
